A 35-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after firing multiple shots toward Rihanna’s Beverly Crest residence on March 8, 2026. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed the suspect’s arrest and ongoing investigation.
Incident Details
The shooting occurred around 1:15–1:20 p.m. PT, while Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, and their three children were inside the home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Witnesses and emergency calls described a white vehicle stopping across the street as the suspect fired between five and ten rounds from what police said was an AR-15-style rifle. Bullets struck the property’s gate, an RV, and walls, but none penetrated the main house.
Arrest and Charges
The suspect, identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz (sometimes reported as Ivana Lisette Ortiz) from Orlando, Florida, was located and taken into custody without incident approximately 30 minutes later at Sherman Oaks Galleria. Her rifle and spent casings were recovered from her vehicle, a white Tesla.
Ortiz was booked into Los Angeles County jail early Monday morning and formally charged with attempted murder. Bail was set at $10.2 million, and she remains in custody. Authorities have not publicly disclosed a motive, though unconfirmed reports mention possible social media activity or celebrity obsession.
Ongoing Investigation
The LAPD is treating the case as an active assault with a deadly weapon investigation. Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and the children reportedly left Los Angeles shortly after the incident. Their representatives have not issued public comments.
This incident underscores growing concerns over celebrity safety, particularly regarding stalking and targeted threats. Police continue to investigate Ortiz’s background and potential further charges.
