Vybz Kartel has publicly dismissed reports claiming he is planning an East African tour in May 2026, warning fans that the circulating announcements are unauthorized and potentially fraudulent.
The Jamaican dancehall superstar addressed the rumors in a statement shared on his social media in early March 2026, after promotional posts began circulating online suggesting he would perform in countries including Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.
According to Kartel, neither he nor his management team has any knowledge of such a tour.
Artist Denies Any Confirmed Shows
In his statement, Kartel clarified several key points:
- Posts claiming he will embark on an East African tour in May 2026 have been circulating online.
- No shows in East Africa have been announced or confirmed by him or his management team.
- Any promoters or individuals advertising these events are acting without authorization.
- Fans and promoters are advised not to send money or engage with anyone claiming to book these shows.
Kartel emphasized that the promotions are misleading and could be part of scam attempts targeting eager fans.
Rumors Sparked Regional Excitement
The claims had generated significant excitement across the region after promotional materials suggested the dancehall star might appear at events such as the Talanta East Africa Festival and other concerts in East Africa.
However, multiple media outlets across the region—including Pulse Uganda and Ghetto Radio—have since reported Kartel’s clarification and warned fans about the misleading promotions.
Fans Urged to Verify Official Announcements
Kartel’s team urged fans to rely only on official announcements from the artist or verified management channels when it comes to tour information and ticket sales.
As of now, no official East African tour dates have been confirmed by the dancehall icon.
